Telecom Centres of Excellence India (TCOE India) is a society under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India, established to promote innovation and development of indigenous telecom technologies. It serves as a collaborative platform connecting government, industry, academia, startups, and other stakeholders to drive research, innovation, and deployment of next-generation telecom solutions.

TCOE India actively supports startups, MSMEs, and innovators through key initiatives such as the Telecom Technology Development Fund (TTDF) and the Digital Communication Innovation Square (DCIS), offering funding, mentorship, and collaboration opportunities to scale innovative telecom solutions. It also facilitates support through schemes such as reimbursement of testing and certification charges and initiatives like the Samriddh Gram – Phygital Services Pilot Project, aimed at delivering integrated digital services in rural areas. Through hackathons, innovation challenges, and ecosystem engagements, TCOE India fosters innovation and collaboration across stakeholders. By bridging the gap between industry, academia, and government, and through its Centres of Excellence, TCOE India enables advanced research in 5G/6G, IoT, AI, cybersecurity, and next-generation communication technologies, thereby accelerating India’s digital transformation.
